STERLING HEIGHTS — A Keep It Made in America bus is scheduled to make a tour stop at Sterling’s Dodge Park May 11 as part of a campaign to support domestic manufacturing jobs.

The rally, the bus’s only anticipated Macomb County appearance, will start at 2 p.m. at the park’s stage, located near the Recreation Center, at 40620 Utica Road, just east of Dodge Park Road. The public is welcome to attend.

The free event is sponsored by the Alliance for American Manufacturing, the United Auto Workers, the United Steelworkers and the Mayors and Municipalities Automotive Coalition. It’s intended to draw attention to the 7 million jobs supported by the U.S. auto supply chain.

Union and AAM representatives, along with local, state and federal officials, are expected to speak during the rally.

The four buses involved in the Keep It Made in America campaign are visiting 36 cities in 11 states May 11-14, culminating in a May 19 awareness event in Washington, D.C.

Other Michigan events are scheduled for Dearborn, Hamtramck, Pontiac, Wyoming, Lansing, Saginaw and Bay City. Communities in Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama and Ohio also will receive visits from the buses.
