About

The Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) is a unique non-partisan, non-profit partnership forged to strengthen manufacturing in the U.S.  AAM brings together a select group of America’s leading manufacturers and the United Steelworkers.  Our mission is to promote creative policy solutions on priorities such as international trade, energy security, currency manipulation, climate change legislation and other issues of mutual concern.

As part of our effort, AAM has launched a “Keep it Made in America” Town Hall Tour to educate and raise awareness on issues affecting the manufacturing sector in the United States today.  These issues have never been more critical to the state of the U.S. economy.  In this decade alone, the manufacturing sector has lost over 5 million jobs and has seen 51,000 plants close.

So far this year we have travelled to Philadelphia and Baltimore, two American cities in which the manufacturing sector is a major part of the local economy.  We have seen despair from those who have lost their stable jobs, but more importantly, we have seen hope in the eyes of those who see manufacturing as the key to reviving the U.S. economy.

AAM also recently held a conference in Washington, DC in junction with the Campaign for America’s Future entitled “Making it in America: Building the New Economy”.  The conference brought together policy makers, labor leaders, economists and engaged citizens.

This site is your resource for all of AAM’s upcoming town hall meetings, conferences, and other events. Together, we can keep it made in America!
